Follow me down the rabbit hole
Hi, I'm Tom
I engineer, install and calibrate cinema rooms in people's homes.
I’ve spent years learning how to do this properly - through study, experimentation, training, and a lot of hard‑won experience. It matters that I understand why this works and how to keep improving.
I take a holistic approach. It's the whole room that needs to perform as a complete system - equipment selection, performance design and style design.
I manufacture room fit‑outs and acoustics solutions in my workshop near Stafford, using CNC machinery to achieve millimetre precision. By manufacturing off-site, installation is accurate and quick.
I also take calibration far beyond the basic fixes that are common in this industry. Some systems are left to automatic room correction and a brief setup. I’ll often spend days refining the audio to deliver the very best results
For picture, I work alongside one of the country’s leading video calibrators, so the visual performance matches the high standard of the sound.
If you trust me with your room, I’ll build you a cinema that keeps you seriously entertained for years to come.
You know when it's right
A truly well‑designed cinema room is unmistakable. You stop thinking about the system and feel it.
When the bass is just right, you feel it in your legs and spine at exactly the right level, with low‑end that is deep, even and full. It adds excitement and dials up the emotion of whatever you’re watching.
The soundfield becomes seamless. Instead of isolated speakers, you sit inside a coherent bubble of sound, where birdsong, gunfire or helicopter blades appear exactly where the filmmakers wanted.
The image does the same job visually: large, bright, detailed and colourful, it pulls you in, helps you feel it more, and makes a normal evening special.
None of this is accidental. It’s the result of careful design, fabrication and calibration.
The secret sauce is all of it
Exceptional cinema rooms don’t have a single trick. They come from getting every part of the system and the space just right.
If any element is weak; the acoustics, the seating, the layout, the image or the calibration then the experience suffers, even if the kit list looks impressive.
For each room, each family and each budget there is a best answer, and my job is to find it. I treat everything as critical: how the room sounds, how it looks, how it feels to sit in, and how reliably it performs.
I design to CEDIA’s RP22 performance framework, where the industry’s leading practitioners agreed what “good” and “excellent” should mean in practice. As part of the working group that wrote RP22, I know it inside out. RP22 defines 21 separate performance metrics, and I design and calibrate with all of them in mind.
If corners are cut, you'll notice.
Come to my cinema
Next to my workshop I’ve built a dedicated demonstration cinema that I’m proud to say is among the best in the UK. Every part of it has been engineered to perform at a very high level.
I sometimes call it Delli Towers, but the sign on the door says 'The Rabbit Hole'. It brings together years of design work, calibration and R&D into a single room that shows what these spaces can really do.
If you’re serious about building a cinema of your own, I’d be delighted to show you. Visit other demo rooms, then come to mine
I’m confident the trip will be worthwhile.
Everyone's different.
If you’d like me to visit, measure, and take care of the whole project, I’m here for that.
If you want to be deeply involved, explore the engineering and see how the decisions are made, I’m happy to take you down the rabbit hole.
Whichever way, the outcome is the same: a room designed and calibrated to perform exceptionally well, for you and your family.
